Known in the past for his scandalous remarks about old-school pop-country performers, Blake Shelton is recording a new album… With The Oak Ridge Boys, who have been performing in their current lineup no less than since the late 1960s.
Exactly when the record will be released remains unknown. The artist himself, who not so long ago went through a divorce, assures that there is enough material – they say this event was very conducive to songwriting. Sometimes Shelton even indulges the public with statements like, “If I got hit by a truck, the label would still have enough for the album”… Well, we’ll take your word for it.
Now the acclaimed country singer has finally allowed a bit of a leak, posting a joint photo on Twitter with pop-country and gospel mastodons The Oak Ridge Boys. “Tonight was magical,” Shelton wrote Monday, Feb. 1. “Thank you The Oak Ridge Boys! Such an honor! Such emotion!” The Oak Ridge Boys responded courtesy for courtesy: “Great moment of magic in the studio. We’re honored to be a part of Blake’s album recording.”
Well, at least work on the album is clearly underway. We’re looking forward to the news!
